Jawahar Bal Bavan is Fun
Bengalureans may be enjoying the metro ride, travelling to work or shopping, but the most enjoyed train ride seems to be the one in Jawahar Bal Bavan – The Toy Train.
Jawahar Bal Bavan, part of Cubbon Park, is the favorite place for the kids and parents. The parents wouldn’t mind because entertaining kids here doesn’t burn their pocket. Imagine spending money for games in malls…
Light on pocket
The ticket price to the Bal Bavan is Rs. 10 for adults, this is less than the two-wheeler parking fee in a mall. The entry is free for children less than ten years.
As you enter the children’s park, you will have two options – buy tickets for a train ride or bypass it and go to the play area. I doubt if your children will allow you to miss it.
The train ride doesn’t cost much. Rs. 20 for adults and Rs. 5 for children less than 10 years. Note that the prices are bound to increase as the years pass by.
The train ride is fun, a sheer enjoyment to both children and adults. Take some photographs but ensure safety! It’s an open train.
Once you are done with the train ride, be prepared to shell out some money. There are more games for children, the dragon train and the cup-merry-go-round is still working there.
There are some eateries which sell pop corns, cotton candies, chats and varieties of beverages. There’s also a restaurant if in case you want to have a meal.
There is some more entertainment for children like see-saw, swings, etc. Take rest while your children are having fun there. But be watchful. There’s a fort like structure, a perfect place to play hide and seek. I saw some children playing Frisbees and shuttle.
The Jawahar Bal Bavan has boating as well. There was one motor boat operating during our visit. We had to share space with other visitors. We paid Rs. 25 per head.
